As a youngster I was a major fan of the US space program, and read and collected everything I could on the astronauts, launch vehicles, and spacecraft. I have always had a fascination with space suits, too, and more recently I have very much admired the work of EVA Models.
I thought I would try my hand at sculpting a Mercury astronaut bust, and chose Col. John Glenn as the subject. The scale is approximately 1/6.
