Curtis-Wright J-2 Fury

This Fury was built by modifying a Testors 1/48 Travel Air Mystery Ship. I sawed off the tail of the original kit, widened the rear of the fuselage with sheet styrene and MagicSculpt. The rear of the Mystery Ship became the front of the Fury. The wings were sawn to sweep back slightly and to modify their shape. I used the horizontal stabs from the kit pretty much as-is for the wing tips of the Fury. The entire tail of the Fury, the 0.70-cal gun pod, wing guns, and canopy was scratchbuilt out of either sheet and rod styrene and MagicSculpt. The "prop" is clear sheet styrene, lightly sanded. I primed with Krylon sandable primer and airbrushed bright red acrylic paint over the whole model. I haven't added any trim or markings yet because I can't decide who will fly this bird. Any suggestions?

The finished model has a wingspan of about 6.6 inches, making it about a 1/50 scale Fury.

The photos below are un-modified except that I cloned out the brass rod holding up the model.
