Admiral Nimitz Museum State Historic Site &
National Museum of the Pacific War
Frederickburg, TX

Fredericksburg is a quaint Texas Hill Country town about an hour west of
the hustle and bustle of Austin. This area was settled by German immigrants
and hosts a number of fine German restaurants and breweries. Fredericksburg
most famous son is Adm. Chester Nimitz, architect of the "miracle
at Midway" and American victory in the Pacific. These two museums
are adjoining, and adjacent to the Wall of Remembrance and the Japanese
Peace Garden. It is a short walk to the "Combat Zone" which features
outdoor exhibits such as shown below. Don't miss these fine museums in
central Texas!
